On the quest to modify, and something that seems to make the most sense right away is an electric fan. It is not a secret that these trucks do not have a ton of power and, from what I have read, converting to an electric fan could help a tiny bit with MPG and Horsepower.

I would also like to upgrade the Radiator soon, but the electric fan is the first thing to do because of the immediate benefit gained (as read) vs the cost and time committed.

I see grooves in the timing cover on the driver's side but my chain guide is intact. The engine was rebuilt before I got it so it's possible they have been there for a while but they look fresh.

I tried measuring the chain for stretch but it's hard to do inside the truck and my numbers do not seem possible. The book says 17 links should be 147 mm...

Have a 1991 Longbed pickup with a 22RE running the LCE "tune up" kit and a Doug Thorley header, otherwise stock. Truck had about 132k miles and just recently, it's been making a mechanical grinding or scraping noise.

I've got a stethoscope to try and pinpoint the sound but I can't quite track it. I've pulled all the belts, still there. Pulled the valve cover, t chain and guides look brand new (only 12k miles on em), didn't see any metal shavings in the oil when I pulled the valve...

Looking to replace the hardline that goes under cab and then into rubber under the bed.
My tank is relocated and stock but I think the lines are all stock as well.
Just having a hard time finding images that match what I have currently.
I could be wrong and it was replaced but the bends in it seem to be factory.

Thoughts are the possibility of going with a reverse flow engine cooling system and a ridiculous underdrive crank pulley to free up a few HP and MPG.

I have the parts, just need the motivation.
