      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just started tear down and rebuild. Kit from standard gear only one now available for this transmission. Most rebuilders (including Marlin Crawler) have discontinued these rebuilds due to lack of availability of a necessary countershaft bearing.<br />
I located a factory original on eBay and snagged it. So on with the rebuild.<br />

The transmission was a spare I had in the shop for years. It worked fine, but figured better to do a complete rebuild now rather than wait for future problems.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a 1976 short bed and both side door locks are “locked/jammed”. the key fits in the slot but does not turn. when i close doors they unlock the lock mechanism so i keep the pass side locked and cannot lock the driver side. idk if i should get locks on eBay, under the assumption if i got new locks my door key would differ from the ignition key. Which I really don’t want. i sprayed WD40 in the lock and tried to loosen it with the key, to no avail. <br />

What weight/brand of motor oil are you using. I have over 300,xxx miles on my 77 and it burns oil and coolant like no other... I am currently using 20W-50, should I be using 10W-30 and some Lucas stabilizer instead, Cold starts (mornings are only around 50F degrees outside) are a bitch to get running... Miles plus too thick oil maybe my culprit?<br />

Best to warm them up with a heat gun or hair dryer before installing. I used spray silicone on both the pedal and back of the pads. Makes installing easier.<br />

I own a Chinook Omega Newport RV that is build on a 1978 Toyota Hilux (or is it called Truck or Pick-up?)<br />
It probably is the only one here in The Netherlands because at that time the Toyota model was not officialy imported, let alone a Chinook RV.<br />

 and upon further inspection I saw black flakes at the bottom which doesnt seem right! <br />
Some people online say it&#039;s a head gasket but I doubt since this truck does not puff blue exhaust or have any oil-coolant mixtures so I&#039;m assuming it&#039;s the inside of a cooling hose breaking down after all these years and hot summers. <br />

The later model &#039;84-88 Pickups carbureted 17 gallon gas tanks will fit the 1980 Pickups with the long bed. I have confirmed it with my 1980 Pickup with the long bed and 20R engine. A direct fitment at that!<br />
