      <content:encoded><![CDATA[It&#039;s time to look at wheels and tires.  I did look around the forum (I&#039;m *positive* this must have all been discussed before), but messages don&#039;t seem to stay around too long on this one.<br />

Lots of stuff for sale on Craigslist all the time...but not a lot of information as to how big I can go without rubbing on anything.  Easier to ask here than to test a hundred wheels or believe what the seller says.<br />

Stock tires 195/65/14.  I know the lug pattern is 5x4.5 (114.3).  Same as many Fords,...<br />

I was out getting gas and spied some tires in a pile. I went over to inspect and saw the tires were very worn discards,  Upon closer inspection I saw that the tires had &quot;Tire treas patches&quot; glued onto the side ares that had wear with a VERY hard gray adhesive.<br />

While obviously such patching isn&#039;t recommend over such a weak area that the side wall is, in an emergency just knowing about such an alternative might be the key to surviving a bad...<br />

Rear driver tire and both passenger side rear are inside fender well, so assume it&#039;s narrower in rear axle. Front passenger is about 1/4&quot; reveal past fender. I measured with a board flat across tire surface. <br />

Don&#039;t think the truck was in any accidents up front, so wondering if it&#039;s maybe related to some suspension adjustments or body adjustments?...<br />
