I used one-shot which they use for pinstripes. I’m able to get a pretty good line by cleaning it up with my thumb.

Prior to the headers I was 2" all the way though with cat and muffler. Not sure what muffler but it sounded good to my ear. I'll get a video of it...

What about direct voltage to the starter? Bypass as much wiring as possible and work your way backwards.
