A while back, we added a cheap oil pressure gauge to the '71. Oil pressure starts out around 50 psi when cold and gradually drops to near nothing as the engine warms, especially near idle. I used to run 10w40 in it but now I use straight 30- the timing chains don't rattle so much when warm. The stock warning light never comes on, so I don't worry too much (the warning light does work- I checked that).

What kind of oil pressure are others seeing in these engines?
