gears???????

    can anyone tell me what kind of gears are in the 1984-1988 TP's and what would be the difrence in puting some 4.56 gears in there or are thos stock gears dont know some guy is selling me some for 15$ if they will make a difrenc or help me out with anything thx for the info guys

    What are you trying to gain from them? You can check the tag on the door jamb that will give you the code for the rear end. It will tell you gear ratio and the number of spider gears, although it's probably around a 3.73. If you make that big of a jump, your highway RPM's will be much higher.
    I went from 3.73 to a 4.10 and my speedo is off 15 mph at 70 (it shows 85).
