    Greetings from NC.
I thought members might like to see my buildup axle swap.
My 1978 Toyota Mini motor home is constructed on a standard hilux chassis.
The duel rear wheels were not true duels, but two wheels bolted together. This allowed for substantial weight on the rear axle. Unfortunately, the semi-float axle had a tendency to break at the bearing race because the extra "fake" outside wheel put too much stress on the axle. Resulting in your rear wheel detaching from the rest of the vehicle. Often without warning. I decided to upgrade to a GM 14 bolt 1 ton ff axle.
This thread attachment is from another site I belong to.
    Happy Reading.
