Hey guys, recently when I push the brake pedal, my pickup will pull to the left. It's manageable, but I won't let anyone else drive it this way. I had the driver's side caliper actually lock up on my recently which got the whole rotor and caliper freakin' hot. Got it home, removed and replaced the caliper, and checked the rotor for excess runout. Luckily the Wilwood rotors were built for racing and high heat. Put it all back together and it still pulls (it pulled before the lockup). Any ideas? The only things I can think that I haven't done yet are to change the pads and get the alignment checked. The A-arm bushings and ball joints all seem to be fine. I did say "seem".
Sounds like the alignment or the toe could be off as well. I had a problem with the toe on my truck & that caused it too pull some as well.
That sucks, hope it's not a problem with the brake up grade you did,as I'm starting that up grade as soon as I get the brackets, will have the rotors & hats this coming week! Gary
Isn't there some sort of valve that equalizes the pressure between the brakes? Does it pull to the left when jsut driving down the road?
Yes, I think the problem stems from the alignment, not sure though. Will find out soon when I have time to take it in. Gary, the problem isn't in the brake upgrade. I drove it for almost a year with no issues until now. Have faith in the bigger brakes.... 93yoter, I don't know of anything like that, but I'll look and see and post up with any info.
i would see if your brake caliper is not working on one side. it could be sticking and only works well on the side it pulls on. just had to do mine over and solved the problem i had.
oh then try bleeding the brakes again or have it flushed out. might have to much air in one side. or your brake master cyclinder is not working right?
